Market Overton Surgery
The surgery is located on Thistleton Road and is a modern, well equipped building.
Opening hours are:
- Daily - opens at 8.30am
- Tuesday & Thursday - closes at 4.30pm
- Monday & Wednesday - closes at 6pm
- Friday - closes at 5.30pm
The surgery is closed between 1pm - 2pm and from 1pm on the first Tuesday of every month for staff training.
The doctor operates 2 types of surgeries:
Open access surgery
No appointment is necessary and everyone who turns up will be seen. These are run:
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - 9am - 9.30am
- Monday & Wednesday - 4pm - 6pm
- Friday - 4pm to 5.30pm
Appointments
For non-urgent matters or routine follow up the surgery has a number of appointment sessions available each week. These sessions generally allow longer with the doctor and can be useful for long standing problems.
Emergencies
In an emergency call the surgery and if there is no one available (e.g. at weekends) listen to the message and follow the instructions given.
Additional services offered at the surgery include:
- DEXA bone scanning (charge £25 - external provider) - early identifier of osteoporosis
- Well woman and Well man clinics with the practice nurse
- Vaccination clinics - please give at least 8 weeks notice of requirement
It is planned that in the future the surgery will also house a paediatrist and a physiotherapist.
