Market Overton Play Area Association (MOPAA)

The Market Overton Play Area Association was set up to source land and equipment to provide a safe play environment for the children of Market Overton and the surrounding area. Play is an important tool for children of all ages and a safe environment was required in which to develop learning skills. We were fortunate enough to receive a grant from the National Lottery and with other fundraising were able to create an award winning play area. The Play Area Association is now responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the play area.

Our organisation aims to be part of the village community. We provide open access to a safe environment which does not require the participant to join a club, spend money, or attend at a time convenient to the service provider. We are the only voluntary facility in Market Overton that provides all of these features. We make no charge for using our award winning equipment, nor do we charge an annual fee for club membership, we are never closed and everyone using our facility has the same rights of access, regardless of age, ability, race, class or whether they are a resident of Market Overton.

We have lots of fun fundraising events from family bingo nights to grown up dances to children's Easter egg hunts. Everyone is always welcome and we advertise our events on posters in the Post Office as well as in Outreach.
