2006/049 Present

Cllrs. Crowther, Dean, Hudson, Rodger, Ryder, Stewart, Warwick and County Councillor Rob Toy, Sgt. Paul Coughlan, PC Adie Booth and twenty-five members of the public.

2006/51 To approve Minutes of Village Meeting on 2005-04-13

Mrs. Irene Reay proposed and Mrs. Kate Don seconded that the Minutes of the Annual Village Meeting held on Wednesday 13th April 2005 be accepted as a true record and this was agreed.

2006/52 To note Chairman's Report.

The Chairman asked if there were any questions relating to his report that had been circulated to all residents of the village.

It was explained that the parish rate had to be increased to meet the costs of replacing 10 very old telegraph pole lights, with new street light standards.

A S137 payment is a discretionary expenditure e.g. grants given to other bodies, such as village hall, church, etc.

The new stone trough at the entrance to the village was one of the improvements that came out of comments from the Parish Plan.

2006/53 To Adopt the Accounts for the year end 2005-03-31

The Receipts & Payments Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2005 were circulated to all present; Lynn Lane proposed, Joyce Cox seconded and all agreed to the adoption and approval of the accounts.

2006/54 Feast Weekend Update

Kate Don informed the meeting of the events that would be held at the Cricket Ground and outlined numerous events that would take place in the village on 1st and 2nd July 2006 and the few days prior to the week-end.

2006/55 To introduce PC Adie Cox

Sgt. Paul Coughlan introduced to the meeting PC Adie Cox who was one of seven Beat Officers in Rutland and explained how the neighbourhood policing works. The Crime front in the village was low - 21 last year and 3 reported since January 2006. Both officers' then answered questions from the floor.
