2009/045 Present

2009/046 Apologies

2009/047 To approve Minutes
Jane Sarjeant proposed and Maureen Hudson seconded that the Minutes of the Annual Village Meeting held on 2nd April 2008 be accepted as a true record and this was agreed.
2009/048 To note Chairman's Report.
The Chairman's Report was noted by members present.
- Cllr. Ryder thanked the Parish Clerk for all his hard work during the year.
2009/049 To Receive the Accounts for the year end 31-03-2008.
The Receipts & Payments Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2008 were received and noted by members present.
2009/050 Feast Weekend Update
Andy Cleverdon informed the meeting of the numerous events that would be held in the Village for the Feast Weekend on 26-27-28 June 2009.
2009/051 PC Houghton
PC Steve Houghton - Community Support Officer informed the meeting that one domestic incident had been recorded since Christmas, whereas, at Greetham 3 burglaries had taken place recently. He outlined measures to take, to dissuade any break-in attempts.
2009/052 Village Spring Clean
Cllr. Carlisle thanked people for their support at last years 'Spring Clean' and asked for volunteers to assist at this years 'Spring Clean' on 18th April 2009.
2009/053 Church in the Community
Revd. Dr. James Saunders informed the meeting that the Church had spent £ 52,000.00 on repairs last year and a leaflet would be distributed to all houses in the village in the hope that with the backing of the village, the finances would be on a sounder footing. He wanted the Church to be more visible and more effective in the village and emphasised that the Church needed to look after a cross section of the community - doing more and listening to new ideas.
2009/054 Any other business
- Fred Hutton queried why the Parish rate was one of the highest in Rutland and was told that money was being set aside to provide a safer route to the Doctor's Surgery. This was one of two projects that had been highlighted as a priority in the Parish Plan of 2005 together with introducing safety measures for Bowling Green Lane - i.e. after consulting the village
- Andy Cleverdon thanked the Parish Clerk for donating the electricity feeder column on the Village Green that was used for the Christmas Tree and festivities.
