2010/049 Present

2010/050 Apologies

2010/051 To approve Minutes
Jane Sarjeant proposed and Marjorie Warwick seconded that the Minutes of the Annual Village Meeting held on Wednesday 8th April 2009 be accepted as a true record and this was agreed.
2010/052 To note Chairman's Report.
The Chairman's Report was noted by members present.
2010/053 To Receive the Accounts for the year end 31-03-2009.
The Receipts & Payments Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2009 were received and noted by members present.
2010/054 Feast Weekend Update
Andy Cleverdon informed the meeting of the numerous events that would be held in the Village for the Feast Weekend on 25-26-27 June 2010.
2010/055 PC Houghton
PC Steve Houghton – Community Support Officer informed the meeting that five crimes had been committed since the last Village Meeting, including one attempted break≫in. Garden crime were the main problem and he informed the meeting that the lawn–mowers could be 'postcoded' free of charge at the Police Station.
2010/056 Village Spring Clean
Cllr. Carlisle thanked people for their support at last years 'Spring Clean' and thought that this year, it should be deferred as a great number of volunteers were giving up a lot of their time and were involved in the alterations to the Community Shop premises.
2010/057 Village Community Shop Report
Andy Cleverdon thanked everyone for their support in raising £ 15,000.00 since the first Village Meeting on 6th January 2010. He informed the Meeting that the Plunkett Foundation had approved £ 15,000.00 towards the project, subject to the Co-op Bank supporting the scheme. It was proposed to open the Community Shop in four weeks time.
2010/058 Any other business
- Allotments – Negotiations were at a delicate state to make comments but it was hoped that talks would be finalised in the next few weeks.
- Dog Fouling – A request for more 'dog fouling' signs to be erected around the village.
- Safer route to the Doctor's Surgery – the scheme, including resurfacing the Main Street, Teigh Road and Thistleton Road would take place during the school summer holidays, after consultation with the Parish Council and residents adjacent to the Doctor's Surgery.
