2004/03 To Approve Minutes of 2003-12-10

The Chairman having circulated the minutes of the Parish Council Meeting, held on Wednesday 10 December 2003; Cllr. Rodger proposed and Cllr. Hudson seconded that they be accepted as a true record and this was agreed by all present.

2004/04 To deal with matters, if any, remaining from the previous meetings

2003/128 - Stone Troughs - Members enquired if the Council had received a revised quotation for the building of the troughs, as the length would be slightly smaller than originally thought. It was agreed to ask Cllr. Dean on his return from abroad.

2004/05 To receive Correspondence

There were several items of correspondence to circulate/notices for meetings-

2004/06 To authorise payments of accounts/S137 and note balances

Cllr. Crowther proposed and Cllr. Rodger seconded that the following invoices/S137 be authorised for payment-

ABB Limited - Street Light Maintenance - £110.37
Powergen - Street Lighting - £98.34

The Chairman circulated the Monthly Statement of Accounts and Quarterly
Statement of Accounts.

2004/07 To receive Planning Applications

Members agreed to support the following applications -

FUL/2003/1241/9/MT - 1 ½ storey extension to rear - 40 Main Street

2004/08 Parish Plan update

Cllr. Rodger had received minutes of the Parish Plan committee and was concerned that they were referring to it as the "Village Plan". Members agreed that it was important for it to be a "Parish Plan", so that it clearly encompasses locations such as The Lodge, the industrial estate and "The Wharf".

2004/09 Tree Planting Scheme

Leicestershire County Council in conjunction with Rutland County Council had produced a tree planting scheme, which members endorsed.

2004/10 Parking

Members were concerned about the abundance of cars and vans parking on the grass verge on Thistleton Road and also on the grass area near Spring Close, opposite Bowling Green Lane junction. Cllr. O'Neill said that this was illegal and he would e-mail the new Community Policewoman - Maggie Henley who would take the appropriate action.
