2007/056 Acceptance of Office

On arrival - the Councillors signed the Declarations of Acceptance of Office Book.

2007/059 Election of Officers

The Clerk opened the Meeting and asked for nominations for Chairman - Cllr Hudson proposed Cllr. Crowther, Cllr. Rodger seconded and this was agreed.

Cllr. Crowther proposed Cllr. Stewart as Vice Chairman, Cllr. Rodger seconded and this was agreed. Cllr. Crowther proposed Cllr. Hudson as Village Hall Representative, Cllr. Rodger seconded and this was agreed.

2007/061 To approve Minutes of 18-4-2007

Cllr. Hudson proposed, Cllr. Rodger seconded that the Parish Council Meeting Minutes of 18 April 2007 and the Annual Village Meeting be accepted as a true record and this was agreed.

2007/062 To deal with matters, if any, remaining from previous meetings

2007/055 - Wheelie Bins - Highways are considering kerbing and restoring the grass verge opposite the Black Bull and finding a solution for resiting the wheelie bins.

2007/063 To receive Correspondence

RCC - Youth Participation in Rutland Practical Advice for Developing Youth Councils.
RCC - Rutland Tidy Village competition.

2007/064 To authorise payments of accounts.

Members agreed that the following be authorised for payment -

ABB - £1996.33 (inc. VAT) New Street Light.
BDG Mowing Services - £210.00 (2 cuts)
Allianz Cornhill - £577.58 - Annual Insurance
Parish Clerk - £160.00
Rutland CAB - £50.00 - S137 Grant
MO Bowls Club¹ - £100.00 - S137 Grant

Members noted balances on the Monthly Statement of Accounts.

2007/065 Planning Applications

None received.

2007/066 Adopt & Approve Accounts for the year ending 31-3-2007

Cllr. Stewart proposed, Cllr. Warwick seconded and all agreed to Adopt and Approve the Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2007. The Chairman then signed Section 1 and 2 with the agreement of members present.

2007/067 Christmas Party

Cllr. Stewart offered to arrange this years Christmas Party and members reaffirmed that the village's allocation should be increased to 16 - Clerk to inform Cottesmore PC

2007/068 Burial Ground

Cllr. Ryder reported that at a P.C.C. AGM on 24 April 2007, Revd. Geoff Angell said it may be possible to re-use land in the churchyard for burials and they would employ a surveyor to establish what land was available.

2007/069 Speed survey working group

Members agreed to look into the speeding problem and form a working group - comprising of Cllrs. Crowther, Rodger, Warwick, Victoria Hardwick and have power to co-opt two other people from the village if thought fit.
