2008/097 To approve Minutes
Cllr. Warwick proposed, Cllr. Carlisle seconded that the Minutes of 2nd July 2008 be accepted as a true record and this was agreed.
2008/098 Matters arising
2007/130 - Bowling Green Lane Road Safety Scheme - Dave Brown from Highways confirmed that it ranked 25th out of about 60 schemes and RCC would shortly be modifying the ranking system which is likely to change the priorities - hopefully giving it higher ranking.
2008/099 Correspondence
- RCC - Minerals Core Strategy - comments made at recent meeting.
- Leicestershire County & Rutland Primary Care Trust - Pharmacy application from Mr. Dharminder Singh for a Pharmacy in the vicinity of The Surgery2.
Members of the Parish Council strongly object to this application as Mr. Singh cannot improve on the first class service provided by The New Forge Surgery. The Parish Plan of 2005 states - 'three quarters of the village use the Doctor's surgery and those who use the surgery were complimentary about the facility and service it offered. This contradicts the statement made by Mr. Singh on page 4 of his application, where he states -"The current pharmacy service on offer to the proposed neighbourhood is inadequate and unacceptable to patients". This is Mr. Singh's opinion and is not held by the village and Parish Council!
2008/100 Payments
Members agreed the payments of:
- ABB Ltd - Street Light Repair
- Southern Electric - Street Lighting
- BDG Mowing
- Parish Clerk
Members noted the Monthly Statement of Accounts.
2008/101 Planning Applications

Members noted the following planning application had been refused:
- FUL/2008/0231/MW - The Lodge - Replace Collyweston roof slates with Bradstone slates.
2008/102 Decorative Village Sign
